Axbridge Railway Station

This is a short portfolio photo project onĀ Axbridge Railway Station circa 1869 – which was ‘axed in 1963 – and is now along side the Axbridge[Bridge over the River Axe] Bypass road – which itself is along side the old ‘Strawberry Line’. This now sees the old Station Master’s house, as it once was, on the opposing side of the Bypass road.

Of course, the alternative method of transporting the local Quarried Mendip Hills products is by Road Haulage; as can be seen in the last photo of this series.
